Saving says it was changed elsewhere

When you click save, a window says This invoice was changed elsewhere (or This quote).

What it means

Someone else saved a change to this document after you opened it. The window names them when it can. Your save was not applied, so nothing was overwritten yet.

Your choices

• Reload their version. You see the latest saved version. Your unsaved edits are discarded, so copy anything you want to keep first.
• Save anyway. Your changes replace theirs. Use it only if you are sure yours should win.

Avoiding it

• Agree who edits an invoice, especially the same one at the same time.
• If you leave a document open for a long time, reload it before you make changes.
• The same can happen if you have the document open in two tabs or on two devices.
