Set up tax presets
A tax preset is a named rate you can pick on any invoice or quote.
Add a preset
- Open Tax Presets. Choose it from the menu and click Add tax preset.
- Name it. Enter a name and the Rate as a percentage.
- Click Save preset.
Use a preset
- Choose it under Tax preset when you edit an invoice or quote.
- To have one chosen automatically, set a Default tax preset under Settings, in Defaults.
There is also a built-in No Tax preset at 0%. It cannot be changed.
Archive and restore
Presets are never deleted. Instead, open one and choose Archive preset. It disappears from the pickers, but invoices that used it still show their tax. Use the Status filter, set to Archived, to find it, and Restore preset to bring it back.
Why old invoices do not change
The rate is copied onto each document when you save it. Editing or archiving a preset later does not alter documents that already exist.
