Number your invoices and quotes

Invoices and quotes each have their own numbering. You set it once and Sanil CRM does the rest.

Set it up

  1. Open Settings. Choose it from the menu to see your Business Profile.
  2. Find Document numbering. There are separate settings for Invoice and Quote.
  3. Set the Prefix. This is the exact text before the number, for example INV-, ACME/ or 2026-INV-. Include any dash or slash yourself.
  4. Set the Digits. This is how many digits the number has, padded with zeros.
  5. Reset the sequence (optional). Use Reset sequence to to enter the next number you want, if you need to start from a particular number.
  6. Save.

How numbers are given out

  • A number is assigned the first time you save, not when you open the editor. A draft you abandon never uses up a number.
  • Two people creating invoices at the same moment get different numbers. The count is protected so numbers never repeat.
  • Changing the prefix affects only new documents. Existing ones keep the number they have. They are never renumbered.
  • Invoices and quotes have separate counters.
