The converted text looks wrong

Work through these in order.

Check each of these

  1. Is the source really Preeti? The converter understands the Preeti keyboard layout only. Other legacy Nepali fonts use different layouts, so their text converts into the wrong letters. See Does it work with other Nepali fonts?
  2. Is it already Unicode? Text that is already real Devanagari does not need converting, and converting it again changes nothing useful.
  3. Did every character survive the copy? Preeti uses some unusual symbols for certain letters, for example ˆ or Î. If the program you copied from drops or replaces them, those letters will be missing. Copy again straight from the original file, not from a screenshot, a chat message or a PDF that has been through another program.
  4. Did you paste all of it? A paste cut short gives a cut-short result. Compare the end of the left pane with the end of your source.
  5. Can your device show Devanagari? If the right pane shows empty boxes, the device lacks a Nepali font. Mangal (Windows) and Noto Sans Devanagari (any system) work well.

Still wrong?

Convert one short sentence and note which letters come out wrong. Then open a ticket and include the original text and what you expected. That lets us find the exact letter.
